Paws QuiVive offers a solution by allowing users to set up customized well-check alerts and designate an emergency contact—who does not need to be a user or subscriber.

Usage Overview:

1. We coordinate verification with your emergency contact.
2. If your contact declines, you are notified and can select an alternative.
3. Once accepted, your initial wellness check-in is scheduled at your chosen time.
4. If you do not respond to a check-in, a reminder is sent before initiating an emergency notification.
5. In the event of non-response, your emergency contact is alerted to verify your condition.
6. Following an emergency alert, you must confirm your wellness within the app before subsequent check-ins resume.

Paws QuiVive Features:

• Create Your Wellness Check: Specify intervals between alerts, preferred time of day for notifications, and follow-up timings if no response is received. Preferences can be adjusted readily from the home screen.
• Customize Alerts: Includes options such as Vacation Mode to pause alerts during travel or special circumstances, and an option to notify local police through the NLPD—availability contingent upon local police participation (see link at end).

Best Practices for Effective Use:

• Select a consistent time of day for wellness checks when you are near your phone with volume sufficient to hear alerts.
• Approach wellness checks as part of your daily routine—similar to brushing teeth or taking medication—to foster consistency.
• Initially, you may miss some alerts. To reset and resume notifications: respond promptly to the latest SMS check-in, follow the embedded link, and confirm status within the app by selecting OK or All Clear/Resume Service.
